Long before we owned The Oak Cupboard, it was already part of our family’s story.

Ian’s mom visited the shop often to pick up ingredients for her famous homemade wecka bread. As a boy, Ian loved tagging along, especially if it meant leaving with a bowl of Rainbow Sherbet. What started as a simple childhood memory eventually grew into something much more meaningful.

In 2020, we were blessed with the opportunity to purchase The Oak Cupboard. We didn’t realize then just how much this shop would shape our lives or how it would connect us to the families and community who walk through our doors.

Today, this shop is about more than business. It’s about honoring tradition, creating connection, and offering a place that feels like home.

We are grateful to our weekly shoppers, first-time visitors to Smithville, the families who make us part of their yearly traditions, and of course, our amazing team who work tirelessly to keep the shelves full.
